Alnus glutinosa 'Imperialis'

Alnus glutinosa 'Imperialis' zeigt tief geschlitzten Blätter und ist als Lebensraum und Nährgehölz für Vögel und Insekten ein wichtiger Part in der Natur. Alnus glutinosa ist eine in Europa einheimische Laubbaumart. Sie überzeugt durch ihren bambusähnlichen, malerischen Wuchs und ihre typischen hellbraunen Kätzchen, die im März bis April austreiben. Aus diesen Blüten entwickeln sich zum Sommer hin die zapfenähnlichen Früchte.

Das natürliche Vorkommen der Bambus-Erle ist an Gewässern und Flussläufen und sogar in Überschwemmungsgebieten. Daher wird sie häufig genutzt, um Ufer zu befestigen.

Alnus glutinosa 'Imperialis' verträgt radikale Schnitte und treibt dann häufig strauchartig wieder aus. Der Großstrauch wächst aufrecht und kann bis 30 m hoch werden. Das Gehölz verträgt Feuchtigkeit und auch Trockenperioden, ist wärmeliebend und pflegeleicht.
