Cryptomeria japonica 'Cristata' Unikat

A slightly different conifer – very decorative and especially in a solitary position. Cryptomeria japonica ‘Cristata’ is definitely an eye-catcher in any garden. It can also be used in smaller groups, e.g. with rhododendrons or other shrubs that tolerate acidic soils.
It's hard to believe that this tree once was slender, with a pyramidal structure. Now it is bursting with strength and stability.
Note: The soft, thick, reddish-brown bark peels off creating a unique feature.
