This tree looks naturally grown, almost enchanted ... You can hardly tell from looking at this Fagus that it too has undergone the art of pruning. It was clear early on that the natural habit of this plant should be worked out and emphasised – successfully, at least in our opinion.

You can easily imagine this beautiful tree in a natural-looking park or garden. And the surplus: It is a paradise for birds and smaller animals.

The branches lean down to the ground and the foliage forms an arbour or hiding place. A centre trunk is missing
Blossom
Fagus sylvatica ‘Purpurea Pendula’ forms small, inconspicuous flower catkins from May onwards. However, the first flowers only appear after 15 to 20 years
Leaves
The leaves of the copper beech look copper-coloured during budding and then shine in a dark bordeaux to black-red
