Habit

Large shrub to small tree with ovoid crown, 5-15 (20) m tall, 5-10 m wide, branches rising, twigs horizontal or arching, medium to fast-growing, initially 40-60 cm a year, later 20-30 cm

Cordate, no runners, tolerate short floods, sensitive to paving and soil compaction

Sunny to slightly shady, tolerates heat, frost hardy, not demanding, robust; good for urban areas, wind resistant
