Habit
A small shrub with thin twigs, 0.6-1.5 (1.7) m tall, 1-2 m wide; like a thicket with runners; shoots upright, few twigs, slow-growing
Blossom
Before leaves shoot, buds red, pink when open, April to May; slightly bitter scent of almonds

Elliptically elongated, shiny fresh green; a modest pale yellow in autumn

Sun, tolerates heat, likes warmth, frost hardy, tolerant of urban pollution, protect from wind to keep flowers from being blown away
