Broadly elliptical, up to 12 cm long, early light green shoots, young trees continue to produce light green shoots until August, older leaves gradually turn dark purple to brown-red in early summer, bright dark red in autumn, leaves stick together for a long time

Sunny to semi-shady, extremely frost hardy, tolerates wetness and drought, suitable for urban climates, undemanding, wind resistant
