Large tree, 30-35 (40) m tall and 15-25 m wide, initially conical, then with asymmetrical and loosely round crown; main stem usually short; branches diagonally rising; twigs asymmetrical, lilting in the lower crown region; initially slow-growing, the first five years ca. 20 cm, later 30-40 cm a year
